Dopo il solare Ablaze, gli Autumn's Grey Solace si concedono una discreta pausa, necessaria per la realizzazione di Eifelian, il loro sesto disco, contenente un menù di canzoni più morbide, più rarefatte e più impalpabili di quelle del precedente album.
Eifelian è forse l'opera più introspettiva, più intimista, soffice ed eterea del gruppo e i quattordici sofisticati gioielli contenuti nel cd confermano l'inclinazione verso virtuosismi vocali seducenti e avvolgenti, incastonati in un elegante scrigno di suoni elettrici ed elettronici, punteggiati da un drumming cadenzato e metronometrico.
È soprattutto un disco in cui fluttuano ineffabili atmosfere liquide, sognanti ed arcane, nobilitate dagli esercizi vocali della nuova sacerdotessa del dream pop, la bella, gradevole e suadente Erin Welton, che assorbono con eleganza gli strumenti di Scott Ferrell, che qui hanno la funzione di semplice supporto.
Vi sono episodi con evidenti riferimenti ai Cocteau Twins, come in Devonian Serene, Serravallian e in A Soul Ensnared; la title track vale da sola il prezzo del cd.

After the sunny Ablaze, the Autumn's Grey Solace take a reasonable break, which is necessary for the realization of Eifelian, their sixth album, containing a menù of songs softer, more rarefied and more impalpable than the previous album.
Eifelian is perhaps the most introspective, the most intimist, soft and ethereal album of the group and the fourteen sophisticated jewels, which are contained in the CD, confirm the inclination towards vocal virtuosity seductive and enveloping, set in an elegant chest of electric and electronic sounds, punctuated by a cadenced and metronometric drumming.
It is primarily a disk, in which float ineffable liquid, dreamy and mysterious atmospheres, ennobled by the vocal exercises of the new priestess of dream pop, the beautiful, pleasant and mellow Erin Welton, that absorb with elegance the instruments of Scott Ferrell, that here have the function of simple support.
There are episodes with obvious references to Cocteau Twins, as in Devonian Serene, Serravallian and Soul Ensnared; only the title track worth the price of the cd.
